Pet Friendly Rustic Cabin on the Animas River - 6 Min. to Downtown Durango

Our 3 bed / 2.5 bath cabin (Gabriel's cabin) sits directly on the Animas River on over 3 acres and is only 4 miles (6 minutes) to historic Downtown Durango. Enjoy a private river front setting with room to room to roam (and fish), while being close to all of the incredible amenities and recreational experiences that Durango has to offer. The ample outdoor space/decks with seating and a gas fire pit will allow you to enjoy the amazing setting on the Animas River.

The cabin features the expected vacation rental amenities including a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer (laundry detergent provided) and there is plenty of parking for multiple vehicles and trailers. High speed Starlink WIFI was installed in March 2024 with speeds over 100mbs. While the kitchen is fully stocked - it does not have a dishwasher.

Bed Configuration:

Main Bedroom - Queen Bed (Top Floor)

2nd Bedroom - Double Bed (Basement Level)

3rd Bedroom - 2 Bunk Beds (Single Over Single - Basement Level)

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Lovely little cabin, great property

We met some friends in Durango for a little ski-cation and this cabin was perfect for our getaway.

Two families fit nicely in the space, and the fact that it's pet friendly made it even better so the puppies could come along.

The outdoor space was fantastic for getting outside, especially with the dogs. We enjoyed the fire pit and walking along the river.

The location is close to everything, yet tucked away so you feel like you are miles from civilization.

Kitchen was decently stocked so we could prepare meals easily, but be sure to bring your water bottles because there was only one glass to be found in the cupboard.

Durango cabin

We have visited Durango for a week plus twice in the last 3 years. It is a wonderful place to relax, hike and explore. The cabin on the river is great. It is on the rustic side, but very comfortable. This year was our second time to rent it! We love just sitting by the outdoor fireplace in the afternoon and listening to the river. A big plus is that it is so close to town!

Excellent rustic retreat!

This property, located super close to town and shops, but has the feel of a secluded cabin retreat. It is the best of both worlds. The river access is wonderful, outdoor spaces are abundant, and the rustic feel is perfect for people with dogs. The house is clean but definitely not frilly (perfect again), check-in and check-out is simple, and the host communication top notch and prompt with any issues. We will definitely be back.

Durango vacation on the river

The cabin was extremely clean and stocked with just anything you could imagine you needed in the kitchen. Stairs were a little steep up and down inside the home, but the house was very nicely kept and maintined.

Great location!

We loved our vacation rental! It was right on the river and had great outdoor seating. It wasn’t too far from town either. We had a group of 7 and it was perfect for us. We will definitely be back!
