We have stayed in this unit before, so basically knew what to expect. The decor is simple....not overdone. Like the location & especially the garage parking. The only drawback is the strong scented detergent & dryer sheets used on the linens......a problem for those of us with allergies to fragrances.

This condo was perfect for my husband and I and our son to stay in during our recent ski trip. The room has a beautiful view of mountains as well as the Purgatory Express ski lift. It’s a convenient walk to the lift as well as the shops of Purgatory. The bed was comfy and our son had the couch. Any issues were quickly resolved by management which we appreciated. Although the room is small, we were very comfortable and had plants of space for all our gear. Plus the room was super clean! We loved it!

If you want to literally ski in and out with just quick ride down elevator and a few steps, this is great for you. The condo is quite charming and well equipped. Very comfortable and the shower is FANTASTIC! Hot tub on premise is one of the best we've experienced on a ski trip. The views from our condo are spectacular and quite nice to see the skiers as they are going up the lifts or skiing down the mountain. One recommendation to owners/managers is a new couch. It's had better days and needs replacement. Bed is very comfortable firm and warm.

This was a great room for my husband and me! The location was perfect for us, as we spent part of our time in Durango and part of it in Silverton. Purgatory was right in the middle. We asked one of the property employees about hiking trails, and he told us about a great trail that was just across the highway from the resort. Beautiful views on the trail. I did not notice, when booking the property, that the fridge is only a dorm sized fridge. I had planned on cooking more of our meals, but wasn't really able to stock up on groceries with the fridge being that size. Just making note of this in case anyone else has the same plans I did and happens to read this review. Overall, great stay and would stay here again!!

First off Keith was very nice and responded to my many emails in a timely manner. My wife and I have never been skiing and I was not sure about what kind of condo we needed (ski in/out etc). Well, we were very happy with the location as it was very close to lift 4 and lift 1 of the resort. It had good views of the main area of the mountain and some other off to the left of the condo.

When we arrived we had a hard time getting into the door, as do other people, but once we figured out that pushing the handle up, the door would come right open. The inside was very clean and nice. The master bed is a queen which we knew, but it seems small after sleeping on a King at the house. The wife tried the fold out couch and this was not exactly the best place to sleep! So we kept to the bed.

We packed groceries to cut down on expenses and it worked out well for us. It was a small kitchen but fine for the 2 of us.

My wife and I would book this same condo for future returns to Purgatory. The price was great and this was a fun trip for some first time skiers.

We stayed in September and the colours of the Aspens were beautiful. It was half way between Durrango and Silverton. There were great walks from the studio up into the woods. Perfect place and time to enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful views. The resort was closed during my stay (as I planned); the week after Labor Day. It was quiet and I felt safe. This condo was beautiful, fun, and relaxing. The location is serene yet there are also lots of great activities within walking distance. We visited in the summer and had so much fun on the alpine slide near the condo! The condo itself was clean, comfy, and well decorated. We were very pleased with the studio condo. It was pretty well stocked with all we needed. The location was great...1/2 way between Durango & Silverton. Hiking & fishing were close by.
The sleeper sofa was as described in reviews-uncomfortable. Other than that, no complaints. We'd stay there again without hesitation.

The condo is a larger studio with a pullout seperator between the bed and living room (pullout couch), so there is some privacy. We slept four and a baby in it comfortably. My only complaint is that the mattress on the pullout couch is very uncomfortable. Bring an extra comforter or two to remedy this. I would definitely stay again.

Overall we were very happy with this rental. The location was perfect with views from the living room and balcony facing directly toward the base and lift 4. The price cannot be beat for the convenience either. The unit was well equipped and even had a mud room with a place to sit and take off your ski boots. We stayed for a full 7 days. With having been there for 6 nights, the only complaint would be comfort of the bed and pull out, but it is to be expected somewhat for a vacation rental property. Overall, I'm certain the condo, location, amenities cannot be beat for the price.

This studio with bed, sofa pullout and Pullman kitchen was surprisingly well organized and attractive to boot. It had mostly been updated recently and had extra cabinets, lots of closets, and a super-large foyer (entry hall) for ski equipment storage and gear-up space. The large mirror in the living room area reflected all the lovely windows and made the space seem much larger. The firewood was free and we very much enjoyed having a fire every evening. We thought the hotel-size refrigerator would be a problem, but found that it was actually sufficient. It did lack a dishwasher: a tiny one would have been welcome. The only real problem was the comfort of the beds. The sofabed was worn out, with a big dip in the middle and pokey springs and the double bed was too soft. The unit was very clean and well-stocked, and the manager was on super-responsive and helpful. The rate was very reasonable.

fave used VRBO in the past and will again as an alternative to hotels. Good location with great view of fall colors and super moon eclipse. Good base of operation for our stay. Overall impression of the property, however, was "tired". Needs a refresh and more light in the main living area. Exhaust fan cover in the bath had not been cleaned in a long time which set a bad tone for neat freak wife. Building maintenance beyond the control of property management probably negatively influenced us. Maintenance has to be done and this was off season.

We will assess the need for additional lighting in the main living space and we are going to purchase new lamps as the current lamps are a bit tired (although they are fully functional) - we agree. The exhaust fan cover will be cleaned during our off-season deep cleans we perform in late October and April of each year. We advised building maintenance of your stay dates and where advised they would work around occupied units so we are disappointed they did not honor their commitment.

We stayed a week. One of us has some significant disability. The condo is accessible but needs some refinement. The front door is very difficult to unlock, the toilet has to be watched or it will keep running and some of the kitchen cabinets are not closing properly. It should also be mentioned that the refrigerator is a mini fridge. We needed a place with a kitchen and the mini fridge makes things a bit inconvenient from a cooking point of view. The unit does have a HD flat screen TV in it but it does not have a HD cable or sat service. The bed is so so.The property manager was very professional to deal with and the cost of the unit is reasonable, especially for the area. The unit is at 9000ft altitude, so if you are sensitive to altitude, be aware of that.

Thanks for your feedback. We have checked out the lock, toilet and kitchen cabinets and made repairs as required. The TV does have Dish TV. The kitchen does have a mini fridge (pretty standard for studios) and it is clearly depicted in the pictures on the listing.

This place was great just the right size for my son and I. Very clean, comfy bed, nice tv. It was between Durango and Silverton. The fridge was smaller and the stove was older electric but we never used the stove and only put drinks in the fridge. 4 people is all that you would want to stay here 5 would push it. It was perfect. I'll be back someday.

We loved the resort, although it would be nice if there was a nice restaurant instead of just fried foods. Loved the ski mountain. We really liked the condo we stayed in, 425, the view was great. It is really worn out though and outdated. Our sheets were thread bare, only one chair to look out the window, and really tacky table to eat at... needs to be improved.

Thanks for your feedback. There are 2 restaurants at the ski resort (Purgys and Paradise Pizza) which have plenty of non fried options. We have replaced the sheets and there is only 1 chair in addition to the couch simply because of the space limitations of a studio (i.e., a 2nd chair simply would not fit in front of the window). The studio sleeps 4 and there is seating for 4 between the couch and the chair. The condo is exactly as pictured on the listing and we recently mounted a 42" TV on the wall.

My wife and I stayed Sunday to Friday. The weather co-operated with new snow on Tuesday. The skiing was great. The condo was as advertised, compact, but that's what we needed. We had friends staying in one of the big units. We spent most of our evenings there.

The condo was clean and ready when we arrived.

There were only two things that were less than great. The fridge is a mini and would have been too small if we had to cook dinner there most nights for a week. The stove burners worked, but the heat output seemed low even after adjusting for the altitude.

The manager was great to work with and gave us a couple of good tips on ski equipment suppliers and activities.

My summary is simple, it was good enough that under the same circumstances I would rent it again.

I have stayed at many places at the base of DMR, but not until now in this type of unit in Eolus. From the reviews I saw I expected it to be really small. It was twice the size I expected (if you have ever stayed in a studio in the Kendall building you know what I mean). Plenty of room for my wife and I. Great location, the condo had everything we needed, and having the wood burning fireplace was fantastic. I would rent this unit or any other from Keith, he was great.

Was convenient to the areas we wanted to see & was a very reasonable rate. Was pouring rain when we arrived, loved the parking garage. The condo, furniture, etc. was just as pictured. Our only problem was the sheets, towels, etc. were washed in a strongly scented detergent My wife is very sensitive to fragrances... sneezing & nonstop nasal drainage even after we washed them in fragrance free detergent. Had to remove them from the room & use a sheet & blanket we packed...just in case. May need consider fragrance free for others w/this problem. We enjoyed our stay...the condo was perfect for the two of us. The Aspens were beautiful especially in route to Silverton. Would love to stay again. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Eolus 425 had everything we needed for an amazing 4 night stay. We had plans to do things in and around Durango prior to arriving, but once we arrived at the resort we never left. This unit is VERY OUTDATED! And in need of LOTS of upgrades! Furniture smelled very dirty; kitchen faucet wasn't even attached to the sink; toilet overflowed and backed up; dishes were dusty and dirty.....just doesn't seem to be very well taken care of in comparison to other units we have stayed at in the same building.

This is a GREAT place (at a GREAT price!) if you want to ski your brains out at Purgatory. Nice that it had a fireplace and the shower was awesome. Accomodations are minimal - one recliner chair in front of nice big window looking out over basin (two chairs would have been better!), awkwardly designed space (kitchen is at the foot of your bed, couch is at a wierd angle to the fireplace due to design of space), so don't come thinking this is going to be a "romantic getaway" spot. It is a total ski-in/ski-out lodging made to sleep, eat, clean up and get back out and ski! Electric stove is old, but kitchen well stocked. Liked having a balcony and access to hot tub (too bad it's not open air but better than no hot tub!). We were really happy with our stay - remarkably quiet and well insulated for noise which is a big bonus!
