Our 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 3,400 square foot home is located within Durango Mountain Resort's (Purgatory) Engineer Village Community and is 24 miles north of downtown Durango (less then a 30 minute drive).
Enjoy the convenience of being at the ski resort, yet have the privacy and additional space of a house with a two car garage. The resort is both an amazing winter playground, and offers a wealth of all your favorite mountain activities in a cool and comfortable summer climate at 8,900 feet in elevation. For ease, there is a free on-demand shuttle to the main plaza steps from the lifts in both winter and summer.
Bed Configuration:
Master - King with TV and Ensuite Bath (2nd floor-main level)
2nd Master - King with TV and Ensuite Bath(3rd Floor)
3rd Bedroom - Bunk Beds (single over Single) and Queen Pull Out Sofa Sleeper with TV (3rd floor)
4th Bedroom - Bunk Bed (Single over Queen) (3rd floor)
This home has easy all-season paved access. 4WD/AWD not required.
This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).
The home is adjacent to over a million acres of national forest land and backs one of the finest hiking trails in the area. Unlimited adventures await in the incomparable San Juan National Forest with walking access to three watersheds with abundant trout and extraordinary vistas of the Needles Mountains. The house is also located near the Purgatory Flats trail head, one of the finest and most scenic hikes in the area.
For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
Durango Summer Escape

We rendezvoused with another family here for a total of 4 adults and 5 children. This house was perfect. We had enough space to spread out but also to enjoy being together. The kitchen and grill were awesome. We cooked breakfast every morning, drank coffee on the balcony and then hiked and biked and had a wonderful time. Location to Purgatory and the associated trails is superb. Not a complaint, just an observation, grocery and other house necessities are not readily available nearby so plan to pickup in Durango or bring with you from home.

Fall Getaway

Amazing Space!!

We traveled during September - not ski season but the proximity to the resort is awesome. The house was just right for us - 2 couples, 3 kids and 2 dogs. The best part - other than the remote start gas fireplace - the clear open skies at night The views are breathtaking and since the neighborhood isn’t crowded - we took multiple family walks during the day. The house was gorgeous - and had we needed.

Family trip with our dogs

This was our first trip to Colorado with our dogs, it was so great finding a beautiful property that allowed pets. That’s hard to find. My dog tore her CCL a week prior to leaving. Even with the stairs in the house she was just fine. The house had plenty of room to feel more like home, everything we needed was provided, the dogs loved the outdoors, and we got to meet a few of the neighbors in the neighborhood as well. We had all we needed and it couldn’t have been located in a better place. In the middle of everything so driving wasn’t awful. We will definitely book again.

Friends drove from Vail,Colorado to Durango,Colorado to visit for a couple of days.From the moment they arrived our experience was perfect.The amazing home we rented was so nice I did not stay in my own home but stayed with them.Durango premier vacation rental made sure everything was great,from the beginning making the reservation until departure their customer service was impeccable.They operate their business as if they were your personal concierge at the finest 5 star resort.I would never use any other company in Durango,ever again.

Summer Vacation with Friends.

We had a great time staying at the house. It was spacious and well taken care of. The rooms were nice & cozy. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, even spices so be sure & check the kitchen before you head to the grocery store, there may be supplies you can use there already. And for those of you worried about no A/C (use Texas people need our A/C!), there are box fans! Great place to stay, centrally located to Durango, Ouray and Silverton. We will definitely be back!

Great vacation

The house was everthing we expected and more. The house was clean and impecable. The house is very nice and we really enjoyed our stay. The location was great. Very close to Pergatory and Durango. We met the housing management when we arrived at the house and the cleaning crew was there when we were pulling out and driving to the airport.

Beautiful Mountain Home

This mountain home is exceptional and perfectly located across from Purgatory Ski Resort. We had snow every day that we were up there, which made the ski conditions amazing.
The home was comfortable and beautifully appointed. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools and was convenient and easy to use. There was plenty of space for all 10 of us to spread out, but the home still felt cozy.
One disappointment though was the second "master bedroom". It is a very small bedroom with a 3/4 bath attached. It has a king sized bed, but is vastly inferior to the true master bedroom, located downstairs. The true master is large with a flat screen tv, fireplace, and a huge bathroom with a soaking tub, separate shower, double vanity, and walk-in closets. If you rent this property, be aware that the two master bedrooms are not at all equal. We had two adult couples in the house and we were expecting it to have two master bedrooms, as advertised. The bunk rooms for the kids, however, were perfect for our brood.
Despite the master situation, we were very happy with this property and would love to go back. It was a beautiful winter experience.

Fabulous Vacation Rental

This was a wonderful vacation rental; gorgeous views of the outdoors from the inside along with spectacular views from the balcony. Fully equipped chef's kitchen, everything provided you would need while on vacation. Close to Durango, but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This has to be our top vacation rental, and we rent somewhere every year. Keith is a truly gracious person to work with; and our family enjoys renting his properties. His properties never disappoint. They are spotlessly clean every time. Keith helped me find a rental that would accommodate my dogs and family which is important. The house is truly much more spectacular than the pictures indicate. I would give this one all gold stars!
Multi-Family Spring Break Ski Week
Gorgeous house. The kids loved the woods outside and being able to play in the snow (harder to do in a condo). The shuttle service to the resort was sometimes a little slow - but always friendly and reliable... and it was the busiest week of the year for them. House is well appointed and spacious common living area and dining.

The right spot for the wedding event we traveled from Arizona to attend. The home was lovely & very comfortable for two couples & two singles we shared the house with for the long 4 day weekend. Had it not been for the altitude sickness experienced by us low-landers we would have stayed longer! Keith was very helpful with the arrangements & we hope to visit Durango again...we'll just stay closer to town instead of at the higher altitude! We would definitely recommend the house to others...cozy yet roomy, clean & accommodating. (All 5 stars...the stars disappeared when I tried to submit.)

A Stunning place!

This home is spectacular! It had more than enough space and storage for our needs (3 adults and 4 children) and is designed with multiple families in mind. The kitchen was well stocked and the seating for dining was more than enough for our needs. It was less than 3 minutes to DMR which was perfect! I could go on and on about what a beautiful place this is, you will not be disappointed if you are staying here!
