Enjoy cool afternoon breezes overlooking Lake Vallecito from the large deck at the Nellie May Cabin. Located a quick 5-minute walk to the lake and close to the marina, restaurant, and grocery store, this charming cottage-style cabin is the perfect spot for your next getaway. The cabin boasts a spacious full kitchen, two bedrooms, a full bath, and a cozy living room with large picture windows and a wood-burning fireplace. Play all day at the lake or on the trails and then take in a quiet evening on the deck or in front of the fireplace. Enjoy a true Colorado experience at the Nellie May. We do have a dog pen for your furry family members.

AREA: In the heart of the Lake Vallecito recreation area, you are near the marina, hiking, biking and ATV trails, fishing, hunting, ice fishing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling - the San Juan wilderness area is at your doorstep! Vallecito also has a few restaurants and general stores. Appx 25 miles to downtown Durango and 50 miles to Purgatory Ski Resort.

PETS: This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.
