Our peaceful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom single-level home features an open living concept, country kitchen, laundry room covered porch and open patio. The Pine Meadow Cabin, located between Durango and Bayfield, is close to Vallecito & Lemon Lakes, a gorgeous mountain recreation area with boating, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, four-wheeling and more.

Our home's architecture, which uses strawbales as structural elements, is optimal for the arid southwest landscape, helping insulate the home in the winter and keep it cool in the summer. Consistent with most Colorado mountain destinations, the home does not offer air-conditioning. There is a washer/dryer in this home.
This is a mountain home on a well. Most guests prefer to bring bottled water for drinking due to the high mineral content. There is no cell service located at this property. There is a landline and WiFi calling works.
AREA: This home is appx 30 minutes to downtown Durango, 30 minutes to Vallecito Marina, and 55 minutes to Purgatory ski resort.
In winter (November through April), 4WD is required. It is NECESSARY that you have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, vehicles with medium to high clearance and winter/snow tires. Although the roads and driveway are well-maintained, they are very steep and curvy, and will be snow packed and slick.
PETS: This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Perfect set up for one or two couples. Kitchen is nicely stocked with everything you might need for preparing meals. The beds are VERY comfortable and great to sink in to after a day adventuring.

Winter Vacation dream!
The place was super cozy and just what we needed for a small family getaway with our toddler. It was quiet but had nearly everything we needed. We would definitely recommend it!

Great rental. Cabin was much nicer than pics. Every kitchen appliance you can think of. Furnishings were great. My dog loved the back yard. I didn’t grill but should have. Location excellent 12 min to town but far out enough for tranquility. Really can’t say enough. Wish it was for sale.

Cabin was nice and met all of our needs. The views are gorgeous and the family had one of our most relaxing vacations ever. Cabin is perfect distance form lakes and town and we would definitely stay there again.

Cute comfortable cabin

We loved the cabin. Everything was well maintained and clean. It is about 20 minutes from Durango and a great place to use as a base to explore the surrounding areas. We ventured out to Vallecito, Lake Lemon, San Juan National Forest, Silverton Durango Railroad, Ouray, Black Canyon on the Gunnison, Old town Durango, and the Million Dollar Highway, and Mesa Verde National Park.

Pine Meadow Cabin
We spent a week at the cabin and enjoyed much of what Durango has to offer - San Juan River fishin, Silverton train ride, Mesa Verde, etc. The cabin is accurately described and everything worked well. 4X4 is not needed unless there is snow. The only down thing was the wi-fi was slow a couple nights out of the week, fast otherwise.

Perfect Place for Relaxation and Recharging
This cabin is not only adorable and well stocked but comfortable. The strawbale construction keeps the cabin warm and cozy even while it is snowing outside !
Love this cabin and the location was peaceful and quiet. Went for the Fall Colors and Colorado didn't disappoint and neither did this cabin !
