Enjoy nature at this idyllic Colorado cabin located within a 20 minute drive from Durango. In the mountains across from the Florida river, this is a great location as "base camp" while enjoying all that the Durango area has to offer.
Outside, the deck is a great place to enjoy morning coffee or view the starry night skies from the porch swing. Fall foliage is spectacular with aspen and other seasonal trees surrounding the home, and winter snow creates a unique mountain getaway at this home. Fishing is a hop, skip and jump away across the road. There are many hiking trails in this area, as well.
Inside, the cabin layout includes a full kitchen, living room with fireplace and streaming TV, dining area. Both bedrooms and bathroom with walk-in shower are also on the main level. We have plenty of family board games for you to enjoy. The cabin also has a washer/dryer.

Our home has shared private Florida river access and access to Treasure Island - a shared community recreation area that's perfect for family fishing outings, picnics, and nature adventures. With Vallecito Lake a 15 minute drive, and Lemon Lake 8 minute drive from our home guests have easy access to robust fishing, boating, and paddle boarding opportunities. This home has very limited cell service.
This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay). Pets must be crated if they are left home alone.
Consistent with most Colorado mountain resorts, the home does not offer air-conditioning.
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Relaxing Getaway

My husband and I wanted to check out the Lake Vallecito area, so this was a perfect and easy location. The surrounding area is beautiful country. The property had great space from the other houses so you we felt we has privacy when we used the front porch daily for coffee or evening beverage. We walked the neighborhood and walked out to 'Treasure Island' which is an actual island between 2 rivers; very lush and wooded. The cabin is exactly as depicted, well appointed. Beds are very comfortable and cozy couch to crash on at end of day of adventure. Don't miss the opportunity to drive north to check out Purgatory and then Silverton and finally Ouray!

Amazing!!!

Traveled all the beautiful hot spots (Durango, Silverton, Telluride, Purgatory) and over the course of the week all I was thinking was ... can we just go back to the cabin. CO is great but the cabin in unforgettable. Beautiful, cozy, finely appointed, clean and so easy to relax in. Clear communication with VRC. Probably one of the best Vacation rentals I’ve ever stayed in!
We are so delighted to here that you got to enjoy many of the most AMAZING places that SW Colorado has to offer, as well as having the most wonderful time here at our cabin in Durango, CO with Vacation Rental Collective! We hope to see you back again in the near future!

Very Nice Cabin!

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin and had a great time! The cabin was very clean and the bed was comfortable as well as the couch and chairs. We did not run out of supplies as the house had adequate supplies and we had brought our own as well. The kitchen appliances were fine and we enjoyed the coffee maker and we discovered the filters and were pleased as we had forgotten ours. The subdivision is lovely and provides a very nice walk among some beautiful cabins. The cabin location is about 20 minutes from town and we were prepared for the ride which was so beautiful as we had timed the fall colors and they were quite the show! The porch was nice to sit on after a day exploring Durango.
Some suggestions on up keep for the cabin: fix the door latch. My husband took two cuts to his fingers with the screws on that latch. He was nice enough to put red tape over the cutting edge of the screws so that no one else would get cut. The door could possibly use a new latch as you have to lock it for it to stay shut. The pots and pans need upgrading. They look terrible and cheap. Also for the women out there...only one mirror and it's in the bathroom. It would be nice to have a mirror in the bedrooms.
All in all I would not hesitate to stay here again. It is a Great place just could use a few things to make it even nicer. Enjoy!

We have taken measures into having our maintenance team fix the door latch issue that you experienced. We will also look into upgrading our pots and pans for this property.

Wonderful cabin

This exceptional cabin is an a great space for relaxing, and the fabulous nature is unique, the weather is perfect. The cabin is fit for 2 couples or family of 4. You can found anything you need ( Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room) Durango, Colorado towns is so close and you can found any adventure and restaurants. I highly recommend this cabin!!!

Great vacation!

We had made several trips to the Durango area, but always in the spring and summer months. This was the first time during the winter. This property is around 10,000 feet so you can expect very cold and plenty of snow. When they said a 4WD was required, they are not kidding. During our 4 night stay we had over 2 feet of snow. A special shout out to the young man who came out a couple of times to plow the driveway and clear a path to get firewood. Very friendly and went above and beyond to help us out. The cabin was spotless and great location. The times we contacted Vrbo they were always quick to respond and took care of any needs we had. It was 5 star customer service all around. We will be returning and recommending this cabin to our friends. Out of all our trips to Colorado, this was the best experience we have had. Thanks again to Vrbo. They are way above the rest rental companies out there.
