Enjoy end-of-the-road privacy in this quintessential Colorado river cabin located within a 20 minute drive from Durango. In the mountains and on the Florida river, this is a great location as "base camp" while enjoying all that the Durango area has to offer.
It’s all about the riverfront location! Outside, the wraparound deck is a great place to enjoy morning coffee, relax in the rocking chairs or fish, and it’s a great place to view the starry night skies. Fall foliage is spectacular with aspen and other seasonal trees surrounding the home, and winter snow creates a unique mountain getaway at this home.
The cabin layout includes the main level with kitchen, living room, dining room and the large deck at river's edge, with both a covered section containing rocking chairs and benches, and an open area with picnic table, BBQ grill chiminea fireplace and steps leading to the lawn and riverbank beyond. The open living area and deck make a fine gathering place for friends and family. There is an AC Unit in the upstairs bedroom.

Our home has shared private Florida river access and access to Treasure Island - a shared community recreation area that's perfect for family fishing outings, picnics, and nature adventures. With Vallecito Lake a 15 minute drive, and Lemon Lake 8 minute drive from our home guests have easy access to robust fishing, boating, and paddle boarding opportunities. This home has very limited cell service.
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Great Location, A Winter Wonderland

Had a great stay. Location is at the end of a road, very quiet. We got 18 inches of snow on day two of our stay and it was a winter wonderland.

Great Stay!

My family and I celebrated Christmas at this cabin! We stayed for 6 days and there were 5 of us all together. The location of this cabin is perfect if you’re looking for privacy and spending quality family time. We stayed warm and it was cozy and had beautiful views!
This cabin was clean and had everything we need for cooking Christmas dinner. It was close to all the fun things to do in Durango we did the Polar Express and went ice skating and ate good food.
My only complaint about this cabin are the beds. All the beds in the cabin need replacing. The King size bed was to lumpy and we cosleep with our 15month old and he was all over and couldn’t really sleep comfortably.
Another suggestion I would make is providing the cabin with basic cleaning supplies such as a broom and maybe a vacuum for people who stay for long periods of time.
Other than that this cabin was perfect and our vacation was magical!
Thanks for your feedback - we are glad you enjoyed the cabin. The vacuum, broom and dustpan were in a locked closet, so we moved to an unlocked closet so guests have access to them. We replaced the lumpy gel mattress topper with a brand new memory foam mattress topper. Look forward to hosting you again.

Secluded Hideaway
Wonderful cabin. Secluded, you feel like you are in the middle of no where but you have neighbors and are only 20 minutes from everything Durango has to offer. Beautiful location. The cabin was clean and functional, even though we were mainly on the porch.

Florida River getaway

Nice cabin along the Florida River! It was a little early in spring still, there was still a lot of snow on the ground, but we still had a lovely time and the place was everything we needed! We will definitely be back, hopefully during a time when it’s more springlike so we can fully enjoy the lawn and river!

A great White Christmas experience
The property was very enjoyable for our family of 4 over the Christmas break, being at the end of the street you have the illusion of being out in the woods alone, it was just what we were looking for. We enjoyed the space next to the house and being adjacent to the creek, in the snow it gave us plenty of area to explore and enjoy. The house was spacious enough to spend family time and the fireplace worked a treat!
