No matter the season, one of my favorite things to do is check out the local calendars for Ouray and Ridgway to see what amazing live performances may be going on for the evening. Both the Wright Opera House and Sherbino Theater host local, national and international talent, and many times you’ll also find fun evening classes to take such as Paint and Sip with a local artist. The local theater scene is also very vibrant in Ouray County and is a fun way to relax after a big day of adventures.

On crisp cool winter mornings, I love to put my Boggs and yak tracks on to hike up the Amphitheater campground access road to the vista point that overlooks the town Ouray and the surrounding mountain range. It's a fairly easy grade road, yet it still gives a good workout and the reward of the Amphitheater vista point destination never disappoints. My other favorite thing to do is visit Box Canyon Falls to take-in the year-round waterfall surrounded by one-hundred foot rock faces.

I pamper myself every few months soaking in the natural geothermal hot springs pools at Twin Peaks and then enjoy an amazing dinner salad at the on-site Mineshaft Pub and Grill.

Hear from Our Happy Guests

This is our second stay, and the home gets better and better each time. Great location and beautiful home. Kitchen is very well equipped and stocked with every imaginable cooking spice + olive oil and vinegar - far better than any other rental vacation home we've visited. Very clean. Fireplace was equipped and ready to go - even during the summer months (which we enjoyed in the cool evenings).
