Our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom single level home was built in 1955 by one of the original homesteaders on what used to be one of the original valley ranches north of Durango, where privacy abounds and frequent wildlife sightings include deer, elk, black bear, wild turkey, hawks etc.

The home has been completely remodeled offering a fantastic gourmet kitchen and modern bathrooms as well as AC but also retains its original charm. The property also features a fenced yard, outdoor covered space and a seasonal irrigation creek that runs thru the property.
Bed Configuration (single level home):
Master Suite - King Bed with private bath
2nd Bedroom - Queen Bed
3rd Bedroom - Bunk Beds (Single over Single)
This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Rock House rocks!

This was our third extended stay at Rock House - and there’s many reasons we keep coming back. There’s just not another property in the Rockies that compares. Privacy, beauty, wildlife, proximity to necessities while giving a “cabin in the woods” feel. It’s VERY Special.

Great place in a great location
The house was in great shape and well stocked. The location was ideal, close to grocery store and very convenient for accessing hiking between Durango and Silverton. The large expanse of grass was perfect for our pup, it even has a dog run with doggy door. Great communication from management.

Rock House

This was our 3rd summer staying at the rock house. I can not imagine a more perfect place to stay. It is stocked with all the kitchen silverware, utensils, pots pans and dishes one could want. The bedrooms bathrooms and sitting areas are very well done and very clean and neat. The setting is fantastic with places for the dog and a covered outside area to suit all your needs. It is very private, quiet, and secure with a large lawn in the front and back. All of which is perfectly maintained. This is definitely a 5 star vacation home.

Beautiful Durango Getaway

Awesome property, we enjoyed our stay in a quiet community outside of Durango. Very pet friendly, well appointed and clean house. Hiking, enjoying sunrise and wildlife watching were highlights of our trip.We would definitely recommend this property and will come back.

Stellar Summer Getaway
This was an amazing getaway in Durango, CO. It was a perfect 3 acre private space with plenty of room for our party of 5. We enjoyed cooking and baking in the well appointed kitchen. The outside space was phenomenal and even our dog loved their fenced in space to roam around. Lots of wildlife sightings (deer and turkey). Would definitely recommend this place and would definitely stay again! Owners are not far down the road, but not intrusive. Very pleasant people! The management company is also very attentive but not intrusive. 5/5 stars for us.

A Weekend with the Dog!

This was our second stay at the Rock House and it was just as great as the first, this time we brought friends, and we did plenty of cooking and exploring the area. The dog loves the snow and the enclosed dog run. Can't wait to come back a third time next year!

Durango Rock House

Our experience at the Durango Rock House was nothing short of magical. It was a perfect autumn escape. From the pristine setting to the immaculate condition of the cabin, we could not have been happier. In the evening, we sat by the creek and watched the Elk bugle and spar as part of their Fall mating ritual. The kitchen is definitely a cooks kitchen, enabling us to home make fresh food from local farms and stands. The traditional fire place really set the ambiance on cool mornings and evenings. Top it all off with the steam shower in the master. It was a taste of an old fashioned lifestyle with all of the modern conveniences. The renovation to this historic cabin is truly impressive. Every detail was in order while maintaining the charm and authenticity of the cabin.
