The home features Starlink WIFI with average internet speeds around 100mbs (we have noted them over 200mbs).
Our 2,700 square foot, 3 bedroom, 3 bath, custom residence is situated above Little Cascade creek on 1 acre and features an amazing deck with awesome views along with a hot tub, fire table, BBQ grill and tons of outdoor seating.
Only 2 miles from Purgatory Ski Resort and 24 miles from historic downtown Durango, yet the residence offers privacy and seclusion and tons of amenities. The open floor plan along with the a second living space, make the home perfect for multiple families. The home features all the expected amenities including smart TVs with You Tube TV, washer/dryer, garage (space for one vehicle), fully stocked kitchen etc. etc.

This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

We love this mountain home!!!

After renting 1831 Lake Purgatory Drive for two weeks last year, we enjoyed it so much we decided to booked it for a full month in 2024. What a wonderful vacation we had! First, the view from the deck, kitchen, den, and master bedroom is absolutely incredible! With three bedrooms and baths, it worked great for guests who joined us throughout the month. And the location is wonderful for cool temperatures, the best hikes in the area, trips to Purgatory ski resort, Ouray and Silverton, and pleasant walks through the beautiful neighborhood. The house is very well equipped throughout including quality pots/pans/supplies in the kitchen, a nice outdoor grill, cleaning supplies, extra blankets, etc. Finally, VRC did a great job of communicating with us and providing a really clean, well prepared vacation home. Given all this, it was really hard to leave, but we will be back!

My family and I truly enjoyed staying in the cozy home. We felt secluded, but still with the comforts of home. Furnishings were comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed during our stay. My favorite part of the property is the amazing view. Would definitely recommend!

Exceeded Expectations!
Our family has stayed in MANY vacation rentals in the last fifteen years, and this one may be our favorite. THE VIEW is amazing, and we enjoyed our "deck time" as one of the highlights of our vacation. The house is fantastic as well. The management company was very responsive and helpful. Great family get away

This house was perfect for our family’s get away. It was exactly as described. It was close to the ski slopes with plenty of room for our entire group. The hot tub was nice after a full day of skiing. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need. The last morning we received a lot of snow. A company showed up and removed most of the snow from the driveway so we were able to get out easily. We loved our stay and would definitely return.

Fantastic Mountain Rental

My wife Janet and I can't say enough about this wonderful cabin north of Durango. The home was an absolute pleasure to stay in to enjoy the cool temperatures and beautiful views of Colorado. Upon arrival we found the cabin very clean with nice furnishings, comfortable beds, and a well equipped kitchen. The owners even provided things we've never seen in a rental property such as bug spray, dog bowls and leashes, two-way radios, and even bear mace for hiking! But the most impressive thing about this property is the incredible view from the beautiful, large deck! Photos don't do the view justice. Sitting in the hot tub in the early evening with a cold beverage to enjoy the view is highly recommended! Also, hat's off to Vacation Rental Collective. The preparation of the cabin for our arrival was perfect, and their communication with us throughout the booking and our time at the cabin was top notch. Thank you! We will definitely be using your company again.

The Space Between
The home was perfectly located between Durango and Ouray, the places we wanted to visit. Beautiful location. Might have missed it, but a description of the drive leading from the highway to the home, real tight and bumpy, would have been good. Instructions for use of the hot tub would have been nice too.
