Our 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 1,800 square foot ski-in/ski-out townhome (end unit) is everything you would expect from a luxury townhome. The townhome (Unit 4) features a main living space with a deck (gas grill) & great views & since its the end unit, it is the closet Alpenglow townhome to the slopes. Each bedroom has a TV along with the TV in the Main Living Space.
The gourmet kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances includes a bar with seating and opens to the great room and dining area, giving you plenty of space to relax and gather with family and friends. There are 2 ski lifts within immediate walking distance from the front door of the townhome and access to the Nordic ski-area is also conveniently nearby. Hiking trails abound in the millions of acres of the pristine San Juan National Forest. Explore mountain biking, backpacking, fly-fishing, hiking, four-wheeling, and nearly every other imaginable high alpine recreational pursuit directly out the front door. Enjoy views of the incomparable Needles Mountain range from the spacious decks as you plan your adventures or simply take another sip of coffee.
Bed Configuration:
Master - King with TV and Ensuite Bath(2nd floor - same level as main living space)
2nd Bedroom - Queen with TV and Ensuite Bath (Bottom floor)
3rd Bedroom - Bunk Bed (Single over Double) and Single Trundle Bed with TV and Ensuite Bath(Bottom Floor)
This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).
The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. For an additional (and optional) 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility.
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Great Vacation House

We had an excellent stay in Purgatory. The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed for the week. The layout worked well for our family of 6. We enjoyed the views from the decks and the private hot tub. The house is in a great location and easy driving to many restaurants and hiking trails.

Great ski in/ski out location!!

We stayed during Spring Break, March 13-18. Several condos claim to be ski in/ski out but this location is exactly as advertised! You can pop on your skis right outside your door and ski down to lift 7 to take you to the main base area where you can go anywhere on the mountain from there. Whenever you need a break or lunch its just as easy to ski right back to your condo. No walking around in heavy ski boots or having to carry skis. There was plenty of room to store our ski gear in the foyer with hooks and hangers to put jackets, gloves, etc, which was really nice. The condo was very clean! It also had plenty of kitchen utensils, pots and pans and towels and extra sheets and blankets for the pull out couch. We stayed there with one other family, a total of 8, and there was plenty of room. The ping pong table in the garage kept the kids busy when we weren’t skiing. The private hot tub was a nice plus after a long day of skiing for the adults to relax. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was also nice for privacy and there was a half bath on the main floor for everyone. The jacuzzi tub in the master was also awesome! There were lots of windows and beautiful views from everywhere in the condo. Staying in Alpenglow 4 made this the best trip to Purgatory Resort thus far and we can’t wait to book this gem again for our next ski trip!

This was our first of hopefully many trips to Purgatory. We have been on many family trips and would put this one at the top of our list! The townhome was perfect for our group of 8. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was stocked and the hot tub was a relaxing way to end each evening. The townhome was conveniently situated by the bunny slopes, which was perfect for a family of beginner skiers. We look forward to renting this home again.

Great Family Ski Vacation

We had a great stay at Alpenglow 4. We had 2 families, 4 adults, 5 kids and our little dog. The townhome was perfect right on the bunny hill to accommodate our younger skiers and easy access to the upper mountain for the adults. The private jacuzzi was a hit with everyone. I have rented with Durango Premiere Vacations for the last 10 years and am always well taken care of. Thank you for another great stay!

Gorgeous condo and TRUE ski in/ski out suitable for all levels

The management company is very organized, sending email correspondence well in advance. Condo is easy to enter, and was extremely clean and well layed out. We never had to contact anyone with questions or concerns, so I can’t speak to on-site availability! The kitchen has very basic utensils and small appliances, but it was very sufficient for our simple vacation meals. Bedding was very comfortable, and we loved the large dining table and open living area.
We could ski all the way down the mountain, then the bunny slope, and right onto the driveway with the snow this year.
