Our 5,500 square foot, 4 bedroom, 5.5 bath, custom home is situated in the exclusive gated Castle Rock neighborhood only 4 miles from Purgatory Ski Resort and 24 miles from historic downtown Durango. The home is the very last home in the neighborhood and sits on 5 acres and backs up to 1000s of acres of National Forest offering unparalleled privacy and seclusion - yet close proximity to the abundant activities that Durango offers.

The brand new home has been outfitted to be the ultimate vacation rental with a private hot tub, theatre, game room, multiple covered decks with the main deck having awesome views, gas fire pit and an outdoor dining table that seats 12. Of course, the typical amenities such as BBQ Grill, WIFI, washer/dryer, 2 car garage are also included. The home features Starlink WIFI with average internet speeds of around 100mbs and there are TVs in each King Bedroom.

Although access to the house is via a paved road - 4WD/AWD with winter tires is REQUIRED, especially during winter storms.

Bed Configuration:
Master Bedroom - King (Main Floor) with en suite bathroom
2nd Master Bedroom - King (Bottom Floor) with en suite bathroom
3rd Bedroom - King (Main floor) with en suite bathroom
4th Bedroom - 4 sets of bunk beds (Single over double) (bottom floor)

The residence is not pet friendly.

Book 7+ nights and a 10% discount is automatically applied (does not apply during Christmas/New Years holiday).

Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Beautiful home

A beautiful home in a secluded location. Home was very clean and had a very nicely stocked kitchen, bedding, and any other amenities you may desire. The kids loved the theater room and hot tub. There were plenty of fans around the house if needed. We would stay here again.

Purgatory Group Trip

Loved the house. Our group consisted of 6 adults, 8 children and it still felt huge. The kids loved the bunk room and everyone enjoyed the hot tub and media room. The house had more amenities then listed including, baby gates, drip and Keurig coffee pots, outside fire pit, and all the appliances you could possibly need. One non-negotiable is a 4WD vehicle is mandatory especially in winter. All families had 4WD and still needed chains to get up and down the road and driveway. Was sort of a pain but the house was worth it.
It's fantastic to hear that you loved the house and that it comfortably accommodated your large group of 6 adults and 8 children. The spaciousness, especially with a bunk room for the kids, must have contributed to a delightful stay. The added amenities like baby gates, multiple coffee pots, an outside fire pit, and a well-equipped kitchen with all necessary appliances are great surprises that likely enhanced the overall experience. It's good to know that you mentioned the importance of a 4WD vehicle, especially in winter. While it may have been a bit challenging with chains needed on the road and driveway, it's reassuring that you found the house to be worth the effort. As the HOA does plow the roads for this property, there is only so much that we can do for our guests as far as the road goes. We hope to see you back again in the near future!

High Up in Purgatory/Durango

Awesome house!

Best Anniversary Trip Ever!

This was the perfect house for a 40th Anniversary celebration! The hot tub was great, loved the deer that walked thru the property. The house is great for a couple wanting to get away, or for a large group. We will definitely keep this house on the list to visit again.
