Our 4,000 square foot home sits just under 2 acres and features 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms and is located just 1 mile from Durango Mountain Resort (Purgatory).
Little Cascade Creek runs adjacent to the property and its only a 10 minute walk to Columbine Lake. The home is on a heavily treed lot which offers privacy and seclusion. There are also a couple of small historic mining cabins (unoccupied) on the property which add to the charm.
The Master bedroom is on the main floor and there are 2 additional bedrooms upstairs. The garage was just converted into a game room which contains a Ping Pong table, 46' HD TV with Apple TV and PS3 with several games as well board games etc. and a queen pull out sofa and a 2nd Master Bedroom with full bathroom. The loft overlooking the main living space has 2 twin beds. All of this makes the house perfect for multiple families.
The main living space contains a wood fireplace (wood provided), cathedral ceilings and an open floor plan and an Apple TV with tons of online content.
There is also a gas BBQ grill on the deck, washer/dryer and a 17' canoe and 2 kayaks for your use (along with life vests).

2nd Master - King with Ensuite Bath (Bottom Floor)
3rd Bedroom - Queen and Twin Bed with Ensuite Bath (3rd Floor)
4th bedroom - Queen and Trundle Bed (2 Twins) with Ensuite Bath (3rd Floor)
Game Room - Pull out queen sofa - (Bottom Floor)
Loft - 2 Twin Beds (2) (3rd Floor)
The home is not pet friendly.
Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).
Stay with us and we offer DISCOUNTS on both summer (white water rafting, horseback riding etc.) and winter (ski/snowboard rentals, sleigh rides, snowmobile tours etc.) activities.
Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

We had a great 5 night stay. Plenty of room for everyone. Kids played in the snow and the ski resort is only one mile away. Be sure to bring 4WD and snow chains. House had everything we needed to cook all our meals.

Super Fantastic Family Chalet

Great location, well-appointed, copious spaces, and plenty of beds for every head. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and took advantage of all the luxuries afforded by this wonderful home. Property management was excellent and easy to communicate with. One caveat; when they say 4-wheel drive or all-wheel with snow tires or chains is required in winter months, they mean it! The driveway is tricky and doesn't get much sunshine. A slight trade-off for all the fresh snow we received while staying. We will book again!

Beautiful, spacious home!

Two families with teenagers stayed comfortably in this spacious and well-stocked home, tucked away in a private wooded lot. Lots of beds/baths and the kitchen was stocked with staples, we wanted for nothing. Also enjoyed the fact the area was 15 degrees cooler than the city of Durango which was suffering in high 90s. Would definitely rent again!

Ski Vacation
The entire stay was great. The house was exactly what we expected. The few questions we had were addressed quickly and completely. The towels were plush and plentiful. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware.

Comfortable, lots of room.
Nice home with lots of room and many amenities. We vacationed with friends, and enjoyed the location. We did have a leak below the kitchen sink, but the maintenance guy came right away and fixed it. The house was somewhat clean there were some trash cans not emptied or cleaned properly, and we had to clean the porch area and grill to use it. And, the light in the bathroom attached to the bedroom on the main floor would not work unless you kept the light in the detached bathroom on. We only figured this out by reading another reviewer who had the same issue. Overall, a nice home.

Great mountain getaway

Perfect location for Purg, Great Multi/Large Family Property
We were there for Snowmageddon/Snowpacolypse February 2019.
The property is exception in terms of space, coziness and amenities. It easily accommodated 2 families of 5 and 6 people with everyone having their own space--including bathrooms. The location is perfect--walkable distance, if needed, to Purg and also very private for relaxing/kids playing in the evening.
During our stay, we needed the property management company multiple times for managing the incredible amount of snow. They were on the spot every time with digging us out (> 24" on first day), advice on getting around, etc.
If you are skiing Purg, this is the place to stay.

This house had everything we needed for our Christmas vacation. It was just right down the road from the ski resort. Great Place!

We really enjoyed this home. It fit our family of 15 perfectly. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were great (the pull-out couch being the only exception). Everything was clean. We also enjoyed using the canoe and kayaks, the bbq grill and ping-pong table. The area is gorgeous, and right near Purgatory and a nearby park/lake. We also enjoyed walking and canoeing on the neighborhood lake. If we have the chance, we would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic house! Private in the woods. We had 3 families & we were able to spread out & have our privacy. The house also had everything we could imagine we needed. I would definitely stay here again. Overall, this house was perfect for our needs. It was clean, spacious, well equipped, and in a great location. We would stay again on a summer trip and would also consider the property perfect for a ski vacation. We had a great time during our recent stay. The space was perfect for our family get together for 15 people. Recommend bringing a few blow up mattresses if your party is this large. The property was clean and relaxing. The game room downstairs was great for the kids. The owner/property mgmt was very responsive. Minor items were the shape of ping pong table and lack of batteries in gaming items ie Wii remotes.

Home was well maintained and was the best stocked of any vacation home we have stayed. There was a problem with the internet service which was never resolved.

We're so sorry there was an issue with the internet when you were there. When we spoke on the phone we gave you the information to trouble-shoot with the Internet provider. I know doing this yourself is not something ideal to do during your visit, but the technicians need to have verification from someone in the home to report what the modem is doing etc... We generally feel our guest would prefer we not inconvenience their stay by visiting the home to do this for them, but would have been happy to if we knew you were still having issues. We never heard back from you that this didn't work and we have since resolved the problem. Again, we're very sorry for that inconvenience and look forward to your next visit.

The location is perfect for enjoying the mountains and hiking north of town and still being afforded the conveniences and charm of enjoying Durango. The house was clean and photos represented it well. The manager was responsive and extremely helpful.
Amazing Home!

This is an amazing home in a beautiful location! We stayed during the summer so the ski resort wasn't a concern for us, but it's literally less than a mile away. The home is situated between Durango and Silverton, which we took advantage of both communities. If you want to hike, fish, boat or explore the area, this is a great location to do so. The home was in excellent condition and conducive for large famililes or multiple families/couples to stay. Keith (the owner) was quick to respond when we had various questions and was very helpful. I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is looking to stay in the area.
